Qualification Entry Requirements
PSP50916 Diploma of Interpreting(LOTE-English)

• Student applicants for this course must have completed at least one year of a Bachelor or a Master’s degree where English is the medium of instruction.

• If the Bachelor or Master’s degree is completed offshore and not completed with English as the medium of instruction, then candidates must have an IELTS 6.0 or equivalent to IELTS (no band score less than 6).

• Evidence of LOTE background learning.

PSP60916 Advanced Diploma of Interpreting(LOTE-English)

PSP60816 Advanced Diploma of Translating

• Must be at least 18 years of age at the time of course commencement.

• Must have completed at least Advanced Diploma where English is the medium of instruction. If the required qualification is completed offshore and not completed with English as the medium of instruction, then candidates must have an IELTS 6.0 or equivalent to IELTS (no band score less than 6).

• Evidence of LOTE background learning, i.e. High School certificate/degrees awarded in LOTE countries. Otherwise a Newton College internal LOTE language proficiency test is required.

BSB51918 Diploma of Leadership and Management

• Have demonstrated an IELTS level of at least 5.5 or equivalent.

• Have successfully completed Australian year 11 or equivalent.

BSB61015 Advanced Diploma of Leadership and Management

• Have demonstrated an IELTS level of at least 5.5 or equivalent.

• Have successfully completed Australian year 12 or equivalent.

• Have successfully completed an accredited course at least at AQF Level 5 (Diploma) or higher or equivalent.

BSB80315 Graduate Certificate in Leadership Diversity

• International English Language Testing System (IELTS), general module - score of 6.0 with no individual score less than 5.5 or equivalent.

• Have satisfactorily completed Australian Year 12 or equivalent.

• Have completed a Bachelor’s degree in related fields of study.

or

• Have completed a Diploma or Advanced Diploma qualification in related fields of study and 2 years equivalent full-time relevant workplace experience at a significant level of leadership and management responsibility and/or complexity in an enterprise.

or

• Have three years equivalent full-time relevant workplace experience at a significant level of leadership and management responsibility and/or complexity in an enterprise.

BSB80215 Graduate Diploma in Strategic Leadership

• International English Language Testing System (IELTS), general module - score of 6.0 with no individual score less than 5.5 or equivalent.

• Have satisfactorily completed Australian Year 12 or equivalent.

• Have completed a Bachelor’s degree in related fields of study and 2 years equivalent full-time relevant work experience at a significant level of leadership and management responsibility, and/or complexity in an enterprise.

or

• Have completed a Diploma or Advanced Diploma qualification in related fields of study and 3 years equivalent full-time relevant workplace experience at a significant level of leadership and management responsibility and/or complexity in an enterprise.

or

• Have five years equivalent full-time relevant workplace experience at a significant level of leadership and management responsibility and/or complexity in an enterprise.

BSB80515 Graduate Certificate in Management (Learning)

• Have successfully completed a Bachelor’s degree.

or

• Have completed Advanced Diploma qualification and 2 years equivalent full-time experience at a management level.

• Be at least 18 years of age or above.

• Have satisfactorily completed Australian Year 12 or equivalent

• Have demonstrated an IELTES level of at least 6.0 or equivalent (test results must be no more than 2 years old) or the successful completion of at least General English Advanced or English for Academic Purposes Advanced Level.

BSB80615 Graduate Diploma of Management (Learning)

• Have successfully completed BSB80515 Graduate Certificate of Management (Learning) or any other qualification at Graduate Certificate level (AQF level 8).

or

• Have successfully completed a Bachelor’s degree.

or

• Have completed Advanced Diploma qualification and 2 years equivalent full-time experience at a management level.

• Be at least 18 years of age or above.

• Have successfully completed academic requirements as specified above.

• Have demonstrated an IELTES level of at least 6.0 or equivalent (test results must be no more than 2 years old) or the successful completion of at least General English Advanced or English for Academic Purposes Advanced Level.

BSB50215 Diploma of Business

• Have demonstrated an IELTS level of at least 5.5 or equivalent.

• Have successfully completed Australian year 11 or equivalent.

BSB60215 Advanced Diploma of Business

• Have demonstrated an IELTS level of at least 5.5 or equivalent.

• Have successfully completed Australian year 12 or equivalent.

• Have successfully completed an accredited course at least at AQF Level 5 (Diploma) or higher or equivalent.


Students please note that Newton College conducts LLN test and English test as well to assess the skills and knowledge of the learner. If LLN skills of the learner is not found as required, Newton College provide the extra support and resources for free of cost. Newton College does not not recruit students under 18 years of age.

Age Requirements

For international students Newton College has a requirement that all students must be over 18 years of age at the commencement of course. Newton College will not recruit any under 18 age international student.

LLN TEST

Newton College will conduct LLN entry test on the Orientation day. It is usual for all learners to do LLN test on orientation day to assess their Language, Literacy and Numeracy level. Low level of LLN is not barrier to get admission in the qualification. Newton College will provide extra resources and support for learner having low level of LLN. (For detail refer to student support policy and procedures)

Students Visa Requirement (for International Students)

You must provide evidence that satisfies the assessment factors applicable to you to the Department of Home Affairs (DHA) to be granted a student visa. Assessment factors include your financial ability, English proficiency, likely compliance with the conditions of your visa and any other matters considered relevant to assessing your application.Additional information on student visa issues is available on DHA website on: https://www.border.gov.au/ and the Study in Australia web site: https://www.studyinaustralia.gov.au/ .

Students Currently in Australia (for International Students)

Prospective international students who are currently enrolled with another registered provider can apply for entry to a course at the Institute. In accordance with the National Code 2018 and ESOS Act 2000, they must have completed six months of their study in principal course of study with their previous registered provider by the time of commencement. Newton College will not knowingly enrol a student who has not completed this requirement.
